Profile

I Made Andi Arsana memiliki kepakaran dalam aspek geospasial Hukum Laut, khususnya delimitasi batas maritim. Berbekal pendidikan Teknik Geodesi UGM serta Hukum Laut dari University of New South Wales dan ANCORS, University of Wollongong, risetnya memadukan aspek geospasial dan hukum laut internasional untuk mendorong penyelesaian batas maritim secara damai.
Dr. Arsana kini dipercaya sebagai Konsiliator Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa untuk sengketa terkait Hukum Laut, Konsultan FAO untuk implementasi BBNJ di Indonesia, serta ahli teknis yang ditunjuk Kementerian Luar Negeri RI dalam perundingan batas maritim Indonesia dengan negara-negara tetangga. Ia juga memelopori penggunaan animasi geospasial yang kini diintegrasikan dalam dokumen Manual on the Technical Aspects of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (TALOS), yang diterbitkan oleh International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).
Karya akademik dan keterlibatannya di berbagai forum turut berkontribusi pada pengembangan pemahaman mengenai batas maritim baik dari sisi akademis maupun kebijakan. Ia aktif membagikan gagasan dan perspektifnya dalam berbagai forum di Asia, Amerika, Eropa, Australia, dan Afrika. Hingga saat ini, ia telah menyampaikan presentasi dan berkontribusi dalam berbagai forum yang diselenggarakan antara lain oleh Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, State Secretariat of Border Affairs Kamboja, Sarawak Attorney General’s Chambers, National University of Singapore, Michigan State University, King’s College London, Indonesian Economic Forum, National Cheng Kung University Taiwan, Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), SEAMEO RIHED, Australian National University, CSIS, RSIS Singapore, The Habibie Center, Uni Eropa, ASEAN, ReCAAP, RIS India, Timor-Leste Maritime Boundary Office, International Commission of Jurists Australia, The Asia Foundation, Jinan University, China-ASEAN Research Institute, UNSW, hingga Istana Kepresidenan Somalia.
